Hunting Services

I offer guided pheasant hunts on private farm ground in the Chamberlain area. The type of hunting is a traditional drive-post hunt. The areas where we hunt are food plots consisting of milo, sorgum, corn, shelter belts, CRP, creek bottoms, slough areas, and grass strips.barrys group-350x268

Typical Hunt:
I will meet you at your hotel at a predetermined time. I have room in my vehicle for 4 adults.  If  your group has more than 4, your group will follow me to the hunting location (2 wheel drives are acceptable). Once at the hunting location, we will discuss safety procedures and the hunting strategy involved for each piece of ground. We will hunt until the group has shot your limit or we have flushed 2 to 3 times the groups limit of roosters with in gun range or sundown (whichever comes first).

Things that will help you out: * Keep in mind we could be walking many miles each day, make sure that you are walking 2-3 miles each day before you come out so you know you can handle the trip. * Practice trap shooting before you come out so that you are on target. * Lastly, let me know if you have any health concerns or problems prior to the hunt!

Additional Information:
I do not discourage bringing  your own dogs for hunting. I train my dogs to stay within 25-30 yards of the walkers. There are times a dog will flush birds out of gun range, dogs can make mistakes to.  Having that happen again and again isn't considered a mistake.   You know how your dog hunts better than anyone else so please consider how your dog will perform in this situation and remember that your dogs performance will affect the outcome of the hunt for the entire group.

Inclimate Weather and/or Adverse Conditions

All trips are subject to cancelation due to weather, adverse conditions (wind, storms, lightning, etc.).  I have the sole discretion to make that determination.  Once the boat hits the water or 2 hours before the hunt, it will be considered a full day.  If the day is cancelled due to weather or adverse conditions, it can be rescheduled for when it is convenient for your party and fits into the schedule of Dakota Prairie Guide Service.

As a very last resort, a full refund will be given.

Cancellation Policy

If a situation occurs that forces the cancellation of the fishing/hunting trip, every effort will be made to reschedule the trip during that calendar year when an opening occurs in the Dakota Prairie Guide schedule. I highly recommend getting travel trip insurance through companies like AIG Travel Insurance to protect your deposits and final payments.
