Daily Fishing Service Information
Located in Chamberlain, South Dakota along the beautiful Missouri River. I provide one of the most personalized and affordable guided fishing experiences in the area. I primarily fish Lake Francis Case or Lake Sharpe which are reservoirs of the Missouri River.
The Walleye fishing can be done year round. With the bite usually starting early/late March right after the ice begins to depart. The bite just continues to get better as the spring progresses into summer when it can be absolutely unbelievable (it is not uncommon during this time of year to put a 100 plus fish in the boat in a day). This continues until the Gizzard Shad (the Walleye's primary forage) become a consumable size, which usually occurs in late July or August. The bite slows a little during this time (25 to 50 fish in the boat in a day), but will become better as the water temperatures begin to drop into the mid/low 50's, (usually Sept./Oct.) and the Walleyes are putting on the feed bags for the upcoming winter. This bite remains solid until "ice-up".
Lake Sharpe is not only known for its Walleye fishing but the Smallmouth bass provide additional opportunities from May to early/mid July. I am by no means a Smallmouth bass expert, but the willing biters don't seem to care and have allowed me to catch my fair share. Other species like Catfish, Crappies, White Bass and a few Northern Pike can be targeted at certain times of the year.
I provide limited ice fishing trip opportunities on the river, local lakes and N.E. South Dakota. Ice thickness can vary from year to year in South Dakota and I will only consider taking trips if I feel comfortable on what I consider Safe Ice. You will have to contact me to get the full details as pricing depends on where we are fishing and what type of lodging arrangements are made. An 8 hour trip on the Missouri River out of portables/hubs/fishing outside is $220.00 (tax not included) per day per man with a minimum of 2 people. Contact us for more info.
My goal is to work as hard as I can to provide you with the most successful trip you can have. I understand that catching fish is the most important aspect of this (I would estimate that my limit success rate is 98% or higher), but through my 26 years of guide experience I have learned there are other aspects to having a successful trip.
Part of a successful trip is to make you feel wanted in my boat. To take the time to get aquainted with you and your group. Try to teach you my methods of catching fish and for you to have fun while you learn. To use high quality equipment, that is maintained and clean for your use. To show you the excitement and enthusiasm I have at the opportunity to take you fishing on two of the best Walleye fisheries I have ever experienced. If I can do this, you will have a legendary memory that will be with you for a lifetime.
